Feed the Brain and the Body through the Ear. - Echofone ensures that the
healing effect of music reaches the psychological level of human hearing in the
body.
Music's overtones, high-frequency tones that you may not even notice, can
profoundly energize and invigorate our ears, brain and total body. The Echofone
Ultrasonic Listening System is a tool for reproducing the fine structural
information which is contained in these overtones, and has a direct effect on
the emotions of the listener. By allowing you to perceive spatial information
embedded within high frequencies, music and sounds gain dimension. You can
actually sense where the instruments are located in a recorded orchestration
when perceived through the Echofone. Music heard through the Echofone has a
startling richness and a deeply relaxing affect.
How it works:
Incoming high-frequency sound is converted to ultrasound and transmitted to
transducers which contact your skin. The ultrasound travels though your skin to
the middle and inner ear, where it is perceived as high frequency audible sound.
If you have any high frequency hearing loss, such as damage caused by exposure
to loud sounds, the Echofone allows perception of the full dynamic range of
music without missing the high frequencies.
Echofone provides a micro-massage to the middle ear and stimulation to the inner
ear, enhancing alertness in the temporal lobe of the human brain. This produces
an immediate, neurological effect in many areas of the body as well as on the
psychological level of human hearing due to the particular organic specification
of the ear and brain.
Music heard through Echofone has a startling richness and a deeply relaxing
affect. The unique combination of deep relaxation and spectral activation via
Echofone prevents the listener from drifting off to sleep which would render the
deep relaxation ineffective.
Echofone affects the brain and nervous system directly through the sense of
hearing and can be used to improve hearing. Echofone can be used to improve
psychological and physical conditions such as hearing, learning difficulties,
voice problems and behavioral disturbances which are causally associated with
the area of acoustic perception.

The inner ear plays a significant role in our being. It translates vibrations
picked up by the skin, as well as the joints and muscles into cortical charge.
This cortical charge builds, organizes and nourishes temporal-spatial
organization for other senses and provides the background beat for learning. The
purpose of the Echofone is to enhance the way we hear, to improve learning
abilities, communication, and emotional behavior.
Originally designed by AquaThought Labs as a research tool, the Echofone
provides accurate perception of frequencies which are ordinarily well above your
hearing range. Incoming high-frequency sound is converted to ultrasound and
transmitted to transducers, which contact your skin. The ultrasound travels
though your skin to the inner ear, where it is perceived as high frequency
audible sound. With the Echofone you can generate sensation of sound wthout any
mechanical stimulation of the eardrum.
By allowing you to perceive spatial information embedded within high
frequencies, music and sounds gain dimension. Much information about the
position of sounds in the recording environment is encoded in the overtones.
These overtones can often be above your normal hearing range, however with the
Echofone you are able to perceive them. This perceptual expansion adds a sense
of depth to many recordings. For example, with the Echofone you can close your
eyes and actually sense where the instruments are located in a recorded
orchestration.
The Echofone enhances the high-frequencies in audio from a variety of sources.
CD's or DVD's mastered entirely in the digital domain will provide exceptional
results.
- 400 Hz to 100,000+ Hz frequency response
- 3 watts output/channel, typical
- Bridge-tied load (BTL) output configuration
- Electrode signal is 30 volts peak-to-peak when the volume is set at 60% or
higher
Note: The output impedance of the Echofone electrode amplifier varies with
frequency, the electrode impedance also varies with frequency. With Echofone
electrode,
the important spec is sound pressure level, and Echofone electrode amplifiers are
designed to maximize that.
AC Adapter
Input: 120V 60 Hz

Echofone enables the listener to experience the full dynamic range of music
without missing the high frequencies.
To use Echofone follow these instructions:
-
Connect Power Supply to Echofone "DC In".
-
Using the 3.5mm Stereo Plug Cable, connect your audio source to Echofone
"Audio In". Your source should be the Headphone Out, or Line Out from a CD
Player, Cassette Player, or Stereo Receiver.
-
Adjust Echofone Headband, and position Echofone
Electrodes under Headband on
temples or forehead. Note: BLUE marker indicates RIGHT channel
Electrode.
-
Connect
Electrodes to Echofone "Head Out", and connect Headphones to Echofone
"Audio Out".
-
Set source volume at zero, Echofone
electrode Volume at 60%, Echofone Phones
Volume at 30%.
-
Turn on source and Echofone. Adjust source volume to comfortable level, and
then fine tune Echofone mix.
-
Experiment with positioning of Echofone electrodes using the Echofone Headband.
Once you have determined optimal positioning of
Electrodes, remove the adhesive
backing from Velcro fasteners and attach to the Echofone Headband.
-
Listening Tip: Another great way to use Echofone is without headphones.
Play back recordings though your stereo speakers with Echofone
Electrodes
engaged. This will allow you to hear and converse with others while enjoying
Echofone's sound.
